Prevent dust attraction on electronic displays

An electronic display is a display device for presentation of images, text, or video transmitted electronically. They come in many types: ELD, LCD, LED, OLED etc. An example of this is the Simco-ION Manager IQ Easy.
It is part of the Simco IQ platform, a small industrial PC with touchscreen. The display is protected by a protective film and removing it can result in high static charges that can result in ESD damage but also cause additional dust attraction.

The Top Gun III or Cleanflex Easy Pro 24V ionising guns from Simco-ION can be used to remove static charges. Additionally an filter at the outlet of the Top Gun ensures that the air is clean. The LED indicates if the gun is in “stand-by” mode and if high voltage is currently active. The sidekick version of the Top Gun includes a foot pedal and goose neck for hands-free operation. Both type of ionising guns are ESD approved.

By using a Simco ionising gun during assembly of the Manager IQ Easy we are able to prevent getting dust particles between the touchscreen and front panel. The IQ Manager system is developed by Simco and enables communication between all connected antistatic devices. This means the operator has full control over the devices and can monitor and optimise both system and device parameters.
